Marsha is a Canadian expat. She has been the CEO of Manawanui for five years and has 27 years experience in health and disability both here and in Canada. She has worked in a variety of environments, including acute/tertiary care, community based care, disability support and government. Originally a paediatric nurse, Marsha has a Masters of Nursing (Hons) and has held a number of leadership and senior management roles at Auckland and Waitemata DHBs as well as the Ministry of Health before taking up the CEO role at Manawanui.
Marsha is passionate about supporting people with disabilities and their families to have the best life possible and has seen first-hand how giving people choice and control over the support they need can transform their life. She has personal experience with MS as her late father struggled with it for many years. She is looking forward to bringing this, and her professional experience to the role as a Trustee at MS Waikato. Marsha has two adult children, and lives with her partner in Whangaparaoa.
